Multnomah County Jail Roster
The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office is the custody agency for county jail records. Sheriff Nicole Morrisey O'Donnell leads MCSO, which provides corrections, civil, and public-safety services in Oregon's most populous county. The public roster is MCSO Online Inmate Data. It is the official county search channel for people in jail and for recent booking or release categories.
The roster is not a full criminal court file and does not replace the Circuit Court record. A jail entry can show that a person is or was in custody, but charges, hearings, pleas, judgments, and sentence terms must be checked through court records when the case has been filed. The MCSO Online Inmate Data portal starts with name fields and a search-type filter. Research confirmed the visible fields from official access and snippets, but a live profile was not fully accessible through command-line inspection. For that reason, the safest use is to search by name and custody category first, then call the jail or request records when profile-level detail is needed.

- Enter the last name, first name, or partial name if the exact spelling is not known.
- Review matches for custody or booking status, keeping in mind that common names may need extra checking.
- Use the jail phone number for bail, housing, or visit questions that the roster does not answer.
- For booking records, custody records, video, classification, or jail phone-call records, use the MCSO public-records request channel.
Multnomah County Roster Fields

Multnomah County Inmate Profile

The roster can support custody and recent booking or release checks. More detailed records, such as booking records, classification records, courthouse video, jail video, or jail phone-call records, may require a public-records request to the Sheriff's Office.

Multnomah County Jail Facilities
MCSO operates two jail facilities in the research: the downtown Multnomah County Detention Center and Inverness Jail in northeast Portland. MCDC is in the Justice Center complex, close to criminal court operations. Inverness is the larger jail campus and also has a lobby channel for self-bail during posted hours. Jail users should call the jail information number before making plans that depend on custody status, bail acceptance, or social visitation.

Multnomah County Booking and Bail
A booking record is a jail record, not the same thing as the court charge record. The booking can show custody status, recent booking or release status, and related jail information, while the court case shows the charges filed, hearings, orders, disposition, and sentence. MCSO says to call 503-988-3689 for bail instructions. Self-bail can be posted through TouchPay Online using MCSO Facility #297204.
Bail can also be posted in person. The research states that the Multnomah County Justice Center lobby accepts bail 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays. Inverness Jail lobby self-bail is listed daily from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Since jail operations can change, a phone check before travel is still prudent.

Multnomah County Inmate Visitation
MCSO visitation rules are detailed and should be checked before every visit. The Sheriff's Office warns that social visitation can be affected by staffing challenges, especially on weekends. Professional visits are not affected by that weekend social-visitation notice. Social visits are a privilege, first-come, first-served, and the visitor must be on the adult in custody's visitor list. Visitors should arrive 30 to 60 minutes before the desired session.

Multnomah County Jail Visit Rules
Adult social visitors must present current, valid, government-issued photo identification. Accepted examples include a state driver's license, state ID card, military ID, or passport. Minor visitors must follow the minors policy, including parent, legal guardian, or approved adult rules, and must stay under adult supervision. Sign-up requires a service request form for each visitor, identification for each visitor, and all visitors present at the window.
Video visits use Securus Video Visiting from home or lobby kiosks in Inverness Jail and the Detention Center. MCSO materials state each visit is 30 minutes in one place and 20 minutes in another, so the current length should be confirmed in Securus before scheduling. Personal-computer users need Windows or Mac, high-speed internet, a webcam, and Securus login credentials.
State Custody and VISOR

Oregon VISOR supports custody searches by full name, partial name, or other identifying information and can support notification requests with or without an account. VISOR is useful for custody and release awareness, but it is not a substitute for the court case file or the MCSO jail roster.
Request Multnomah County Jail Records
Some inmate records are not shown in the public roster. The research identifies booking records, booking photos, custody records, classification, jail video, courthouse video, and jail phone-call records as records that may route through the Multnomah County Public Records Center with the Sheriff's Office selected. Oregon public-records law allows requests but also allows exemptions, redactions, fees, and processing time.
Booking photos have a specific Oregon limit. MCSO no longer provides booking photos on the online jail roster due to Oregon House Bill 3273 restrictions effective January 1, 2022. That rule is important for Multnomah County inmate records and arrest-related searches because the lack of a public mugshot should not be read as the absence of a booking.
